The awards portion of the annual Presidents’ Luncheon has just been completed in the Great Hall South of the Boca Raton Resort and Club.

FPRA State President Lanette Hart, APR, CPRC, took the stage and began by recognizing the outgoing president of each of FPRA’s 15 professional chapters:

Next, Jay Wilson, APR, FPRE Foundation Chair announced the winner of the Dr. Bob Davis, APR, CPRC, Foundation Scholarship Award. The scholarship is named in honor of long-time FPRA member Dr. Bob Davis, APR, CPRC. Bob is a retired professor from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

The recipient of the award was Ashleigh Grant, a student at  Florida State University.

Next, Lanette presented the much-anticipated President’s Awards of Excellence for 2009. The following Chapters were recognized:

Paul Ramey, APR, FPRA Vice President of Technology, presented the award for Best Chapter Web Site. Paul announced that a panel of three judges unanimously selected the Central West Coast Chapter, President Debby Steele, and Webmaster Susie Bowie. Click here to see the site.

Melanie Mowry-Etters, APR, CPRC, FPRA Vice President of Communications & Public Relations presented the Best Chapter Newsletter Award. This year’s award went to the Treasure Coast Chapter, President Linette Trabulsy and Editor Sarah Starr.
