FPRA 2013 Annual Conference: History Museum Ribbon Cutting
By: Lauren Hyer
FPRA prides itself on being the oldest public relations organization in the U.S., and in celebration of its rich history, attendees gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the association’s inaugural history museum. Joining us was special guest Philip Kramer, the grandson of FPRA’s first president and founder, Lt. Col. John Dillin.
The walk-through museum, which will be up until August 7 at noon, honors each decade of FPRA’s past and reveals the momentous events that make up our association’s deeply rooted history.
Though the practice of public relations and the tools we use have evolved exponentially since our association’s inception in 1938, the purpose of FPRA still remains the same: to help public relations professionals do their jobs better. But as we look toward the exciting possibilities of the future, it’s important to remember and celebrate the momentous events of our past.
The ceremony was sponsored by FPRA’s Central West Coast Chapter and Marketing Mud, and attendees received a beautiful 75th Anniversary commemorative gift.
