Recommended Dress Attire

Business Casual? Dressy Attire? Black Tie Optional?

It can be tough to decipher what these dress codes actually entail. To make things easier, we’ve outlined the events you will encounter at FPRA events and the recommended dress attire for each of these functions.

Please note that the average hotel temperature is 72 degrees. To ensure comfort, you may want to have a sweater or jacket available.



BUSINESS CASUALimage-20240319120129-1

Business casual attire is recommended for the following events:

  • LeadershipFPRA Orientation
  • The Value of Earning Accreditation/Certification
  • Outgoing & Incoming Executive Committee Meetings (for FPRA officers only)
  • President’s Welcome Reception
  • Wednesday’s Closing Session

For women, appropriate business casual attire includes blouses, elegant sleeveless shirts and dressy tops, dress pants, dark jeans, dresses and skirts, and blazers or cardigans.

For men, appropriate attire includes Polo-style shirts, long or short-sleeved button-down shirts, semi-formal pants, dress slacks or dark jeans.

Business attire is recommended for the following events:

  • All Professional Development Events (Breakout and General Sessions)

For women, appropriate attire includes a business suit, dress, skirt or slacks, blouse or dress material top with heels, dressy sandals or flats.

For men, appropriate attire includes a blazer, business shirt, tie, dress pants and dress shoes.

Evening dressy attire is recommended for the following events:

  • LeadershipFPRA Graduation

For women, appropriate attire includes cocktail dresses, dressy blouses or pullover tops, slacks and skirts, and heels, dressy sandals or flats.

For men, appropriate attire includes button-down or collared shirts, Polo-style shirts, linen or dress pants and closed-toe shoes. Jacket and tie optional.


BLACK TIE OPTIONAL/MODERN FORMALimage-20240319120156-4

Black Tie optional (formal) attire or Modern Formal is recommended for the following events:

  • Reception of the Presidents
  • Golden Image Awards

For women, appropriate attire includes evening gowns, cocktail dresses, dressy suits or jumpsuits.

For men, appropriate attire includes formal suits or tuxedos.


CASUAL

Casual attire is appropriate for:

  • Student Field Trip

Casual attire includes shorts and t-shirts or other comfortable clothing and sandals, sneakers or athletic shoes.

Please note that for some student field trips, long pants, flat closed-toe shoes and/or covered shoulders may be required. Please check the requirements for your trip.
