FPRA Announces KSC Inc. Appreciation Day to Honor 25 Years of Dedicated Service
Sarasota, Fla. — November 15, 2025 — The Florida Public Relations Association is proud to announce KSC Appreciation Day, a special celebration recognizing more than 25 years of outstanding service by KSC Inc. Advertising, Marketing & PR, FPRA’s management team. This milestone reflects KSC’s commitment to supporting FPRA’s mission and members across the state.
The FPRA State Board officially proclaimed November 15, 2025, as KSC Appreciation Day, honoring the team’s exceptional contributions and partnership. The proclamation was read during the State Board Meeting in Fort Myers, FL., as part of a surprise “thank you” designed to delight and celebrate KSC.
Highlights of the Appreciation Day during the Association’s State Board meeting included a reading of the proclamation by the executive committee, thank you notes from FPRA leaders and members to share personal sentiments, photos and memories with the KSC team, and generous gifts from past presidents and members.
“KSC has been an integral part of FPRA’s success story for a quarter of a century,” said FPRA State President Lindsay Hudock, APR, CPRC. “KSC’s dedication, professionalism and creativity to help us thrive has played a critical role in the success of the Association over the last two and a half decades. This partnership has a rich history that we are fortunate to be able to celebrate.”
KSC Inc. has served as the management team for the state-wide Association since 1999. Cheray Keyes-Shima, APR, CPRC, has served as executive director of the Association since that time, originally serving as co-executive director with her former partner at KSC, Christopher Carroll, APR, CPRC. Caroll retired from KSC Inc. in 2014, and Keyes-Shima became the sole executive director of the Association until February of this year, when Melanie Reda, APR, CPRC, joined her as co-executive director.
Keyes-Shima joined FPRA in 1990 as a student member. During her term as president of the local Central West Coast Chapter from 1996 to 1997, the chapter earned the President’s Award for Chapter Administration and Financial Management. Carroll has been a member of FPRA since 1996 and served as president of the Central West Coast Chapter from 1997 to 1998, earning the President’s Award for Chapter President of the Year. Reda joined FPRA in 2011 and served as president of the Central West Coast Chapter from 2021 to 2022, earning the President’s Award for Chapter of the Year and President’s Awards for Membership and DEI. She joined KSC as an account executive in 2020 and began serving as program director for FPRA the same year.
“We were truly moved by the proclamation of KSC Appreciation Day and the cards we received from so many FPRA board members and past presidents,” said Keyes-Shima. “I was originally encouraged to join FPRA when I was a student at FSU. Dr. Jay D. Rayburn was the dean of the Communications Department at that time, and he told me, ‘If you’re going to be in PR, you need to be in FPRA.’ I took that to heart and am still working with my FPRA colleagues, 35 years later, to ensure FPRA remains a viral resource to PR and communications professionals in the state of Florida and beyond.”
