In 2017 President's Message

Dear FPRA Family,

As 2017 ends, I want to wish you and your loved ones a peaceful and happy new year. With our theme this year focused on balance, may you enjoy some well-deserved time off with family and friends.

This has been an extraordinary year for the Florida Public Relations Association.  We have so much to be grateful for within our Association. I know I am grateful for all of you. You make my job easy. I’m always awestruck when I visit chapters and see the engagement of our members, student members and guests.

At a recent chapter visit, I stood off in the corner of the room before the meeting began and purposefully just watched the interactions of the attendees. It truly made me appreciate everything this Association does to promote our profession, engage our members and offer opportunities to become better professionals every day. With members throughout the state, FPRA can be found in many different places.  Through the members who meet for coffee to share experiences, to the group of seasoned professionals pursuing their CPRC designation or the more than 200 members that attend annual conference, the purpose of FPRA is exemplified.

Please don’t ever forget that you get out of FPRA what you put into it. If you haven’t jumped in with both feet, please feel free to email me or a member of your local board. We are always looking for great people who want to get involved.

Please enjoy this holiday season. I look forward to working with you to make 2018 FPRA’s brightest year yet.

Warmest Wishes,

Ryan Gerds, APR, CPRC
