Julie Frey, APR, CPRC, assists employers offering internships and other career opportunities in connecting with students at one of the country’s premier journalism and communications programs.
Julie is a strategic communications professional with 20+ years in higher education, nonprofit and corporate communications. Previously, she served as the inaugural communications director at the UF College of Design, Construction and Planning, building the college’s integrated communications team, overseeing public relations, website, social media, events, video, photography, information technology and instructional design. Earlier in her career, she served as campaign director for United Way of Alachua County and in communications for the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Beall’s, Inc.
She currently serves as FPRA’s chair of the Counselors’ Network and is on the advisory board of the Academy of Entrepreneurship at Buchholz High School. Julie received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida.
