Amelia Bell, APR, CPRC is the communications manager for RTI Surgical where she is responsible for the company’s corporate and marketing communications including internal communications, media relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Throughout her career, Amelia has worked with public and private organizations to motivate external audiences to action, promote events, launch new products and inspire employees. A long-time FPRA member, Amelia is a Past-President of the Gainesville Chapter, was a member of the inaugural class of LeadershipFPRA and is a recipient of FPRA’s Doris Fleishmann award. Amelia received a masters degree in mass communication and a bachelors degree in public relations from the University of Florida.

In 2020, RTI Surgical preparing for a corporate separation in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The complex corporate separation process, coupled with the pandemic presented unique challenges for communicating effectively with employees during a critical time. In this case-study, Amelia will present strategies for communicating with employees when your world is upside-down.
