Southwest Florida Chapter presents Merry Givemas

First 10 members to bring a donation will get a free drink!
This year’s mantra has been “due to the unprecedented times, things have changed.” So, in 2020, we have all mastered the art of The Pivot.

Everyone can use an outlet to unwind, reconnect and gain a charge of positivity to close out this epic year. Due to concerns on large group gatherings, we will be hitting the pause button on the traditional Merry Mixer event and hope to bring all the traditions back in July 2021.

However, this provided an opportunity to spread goodwill and lift the spirits of Southwest Florida children and families in need this holiday season.

We are pleased to introduce the inaugural Merry Givemas event.

Tell Me More!

Merry Givemas will provide an opportunity to donate new, unwrapped toys and small denomination gift cards for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida. Merry Givemas serves as a way to give back to those families who have struggled through this year and to pay homage to the generosity of our dearly departed Janet Wilson. Known for her infectious smile and caring spirit, Janet touched countless lives in Southwest Florida. To know Janet meant that you were a special member of the all-welcoming Friends of Janet club.

The Merry Givemas toy drive will run from November 9 to December 11. Donations can be dropped off at one of the following member or member affiliated locations: Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre (box office), M&M Multimedia, Priority Marketing, SWFL, Inc., and Pushing the Envelope (please call PTE ahead for drop-off and wear a mask). FPRA members have also volunteered to offer pickups of large donations upon request, just email us at pr@fpraswfl.org to arrange pickup. You can also reach out to get an address for shipping, if you’d prefer to get your give on with some online shopping.

On Friday, Dec. 11, we will celebrate the generosity of the Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA with a collection event and a casual pop-in mixer at Fort Myers Brewing Company from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The first 10 people to bring a toy to this event will receive a free beer on the chapter!

To spice things up a bit, the winning site that collects the most donated toys will receive the coveted Golden Reindeer Trophy and bragging rights until next year!

We look forward to feeling the love of our FPRA members this holiday season, and celebrating in a safe, responsible, socially distanced, pop-in mixer on December 11. And we hope to be back with the Merry Mixer: Happy H-All-idays edition in July 2021 to celebrate all the memories and milestones we may have missed in 2020.
