Public relations practitioners looking to take the next step in their professional journey are invited to take part in a comprehensive boot camp on Saturday, January 23. The half-day, virtual Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) boot camp will breakdown the process of obtaining accreditation.
The Central West Coast and Volusia/Flagler chapters of the Florida Public Relations Association are co-hosting the workshop, which is free to all FPRA members who would like to participate.
During the 2021 APR boot camp, which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, on Zoom, a series of presenters will guide attendees through the various aspects of the two-part exam, which includes a presentation and a proctored test. Topics covered in the boot camp will include research, planning, implementing and evaluation of PR programs; leading the public relations function within an organization; communications ethics and law; crisis communications; history of the profession and tips for preparation for the presentation and computer test.
Overseen by the Universal Accreditation Board, the APR credential builds upon the foundation of an educational degree and shows that professionals have demonstrated their competence and expertise in an ever-changing field of public relations.
