Public relations is often negatively stereotyped as a profession that thrives on distorting the truth or withholding information. However, ethical public relations practice calls for upholding honest communications and transparency when dealing with any information, sensitive or not. Blurring fact and fiction can cause a serious rift in credibility and tarnish your client’s (as well as your own) reputation.

Join the FPRA Capital Chapter on Wednesday, March 8, at the Florida Sheriffs Association (2617 Mahan Dr) for an informative program on Ethics in Public Relations with Dr. Patricia Whalen, Florida International University professor. This program will:

Provide a framework for professional ethics and decision-making in public relations.
Discuss contemporary examples of ethics gone wrong and the consequences.
Help PR practitioners reflect on personal and professional conduct and identify value systems based on sound philosophical principles and professional codes of ethics.

**Renewal of your APR now requires one CEU of ethics training. The March program will count as a 0.5 CEU ethics credit.**

Our program will begin at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and networking, and the presentation will be from 8 – 9 a.m.
