Public Relations and the Law

This month’s FPRA Orlando Area Chapter luncheon features a nuts and bolts review of various legal issues confronted by public relations practitioners. The luncheon will be a Socratic-style, interactive, academic discussion on a variety of topics, including:

• The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and how it applies to your job as a PR professional.
• Libel, slander and defamation and how the lines are blurred by modern media, including social media.
• Copyright and "fair use” - find out what you can and can’t do!

Featuring:
Dr. Allen Moore, JD, APR
Public Information Officer, Orange County Corrections Department

Jim Edwards, JD
Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, Circuit Civil Mediator

The luncheon will be held on Thursday, May 28 at the University Club, 150 E. Central Blvd., Orlando. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m.; luncheon/presentation at noon.
