FPRA INTERNSHIPS

A PR internship will provide real-world experience and knowledge in the public relations field, and you will be able to develop an impressive portfolio of work. You will gain a plethora of knowledge in all aspects of communications, including marketing and advertising. Responsibilities may include but will not be limited to:
  • Career shadowing
  • Writing press releases and performing other communications functions as deemed necessary by the company
  • Attending monthly programs at your local FPRA chapter and participating in the chapter:
    • Working on a chapter committee
    • Writing articles for the Chapter monthly newsletter
    • Media relations for Chapter events and service projects
    • Working in conjunction with various Chapter members on different projects
    • Special events planning
Internships are handled on a case by case basis by the chapters depending on the availability of internships. Your interest will be forwarded to the appropriate chapter for review and you will receive a response from them directly.

Membership in the organization is encouraged. Becoming a member of FPRA is a wise investment in your future and will serve you well in your quest for success! Many of the regional chapters have student chapters and this is an outstanding opportunity to gain invaluable insight and experience into the public relations profession. You will receive valuable experience in the form of professional development seminars and publications, leadership and networking opportunities.
Students receive a discount for most FPRA monthly luncheons and other events with the chance to network with hundreds of public relations professionals.
Annual Dues are $35, and the membership year runs from August 31 to September 1.
